Jane is a registered psychologist with extensive experience in working with children, adolescents and families within a strengths-based and unified view of human capacity and healing. Her experience with families extends from work within the educational system and postgraduate studies with clinical placements in pre and postnatal mental health, cancer care and psychological assessments across the lifespan. Jane has supported adults, older adults, children and their families to understand and address mood, trauma-based and neurodevelopmental conditions. Jane has a special interest in supporting parents with attachment and behavioural concerns, birth-related trauma, and the neurobiological impacts for individuals with complex trauma histories. Jane’s caring and collaborative approach with clients consider the biological, environmental, spiritual and psychological elements of their experience in formulating their unique treatment plan.

Jane and her family relocated to Cairns in 2004 from 6 years’ residence in the Northern Marianas Islands. In the last 16 years, Jane has completed graduate and postgraduate studies in general and clinical psychology and collaborated with community groups including Aboriginal, Torres Strait and Bhutanese community members in a voluntary capacity for the Baha’i community of Cairns.  Her volunteer roles include the coordination of Baha’i children’s spiritual education programs with families in neighbourhood settings throughout Cairns and the Torres Shire.  In their free time, Jane and her family enjoy beach walks with the dog, bush-hikes and swimming in nature, running and yoga, board games and discussing interesting research, and watching inspiring movies –  obviously not all at the same time.
