Thank you to all of our patients for being so patient and understanding during this difficult time. We understand the anxiety and stress this has caused a lot of people and we are doing our utmost best to ensure we are keeping everyone as safe and protected as possible.
To align with the current changes that have been issued by the Australian Government, we have made adjustments to our regular day-to-day processes. Please see below the measures we have put in place:
- Our waiting room chairs have been spread out to ensure an appropriate distance between our patients. This will lower the risk of infection.
- All patients showing flu-like symptoms are to wait outside in our designated waiting area. Patients are to advise reception via phone when they arrive and their GP will come out to conduct the consultation. Please be aware this will only be applicable during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the virus now being in the Cairns region we are taking these more extreme measures to assist as best we can to flatten the curve and are working to help alleviate the pressure on our Emergency Department and Fever Clinic.
- As of Monday 30th March, bulk billed telehealth appointments will be available to all our current patients who are anxious about attending the practice. We will do our best to assist you via telehealth although your GP may request you attend the clinic for more complex cases. These appointments will be available to be booked online as of Monday.
- If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please advise your GP during your consultation to discuss your billing options.
